Although your extended health benefits may cover counselling with a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, please contact your insurance provider for further information. We do not interact with insurance providers directly.
It is central to our practice to fill each session time by assisting someone in their struggle to feel better. Suppose you cannot attend your appointment for any reason. In that case, we will need at least 48 hours notice to process your cancellation and avoid charging the full session fee. We will do our best to reschedule if you’d like to do so, or we can schedule a phone or online session instead of your regular appointment for that week.
Yes, we do offer a free consultation. This initial meeting serves several important purposes:
- It allows you to assess whether you feel comfortable working with me and if my approach aligns with your needs.
- It gives me an opportunity to understand your situation and determine if I’m the best fit to help you.
- Most importantly, it helps us both evaluate your readiness for therapy.
Psychotherapy is a powerful tool that can lead to significant, positive life changes. However, it requires a commitment of effort, time, and money. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your current state of readiness, which greatly impacts your therapy experience. We’ll explore questions like:
- Are you prepared to engage fully in the counselling process?
- Do you view therapy as an investment in yourself?
- Can you commit to regular sessions and follow-through on the work involved?
- Are you financially prepared for the investment in your mental health?
This consultation ensures that if we proceed, you’re entering therapy with a clear understanding of the commitment involved and the potential for meaningful change.
We work with individuals and couples 18+ who live in British Columbia.
