I AM XIVA

I AM XIVA

Do you relate to these statements?

You sense that there is more to life, and you’re tired of feeling alone. Maybe you’re in a relationship that feels draining, or you feel emotionally disconnected, like you’re different from everyone else.

Maybe you grew up in a home where you weren’t seen or heard. You’re repeating old patterns and feel stuck. Perhaps you desire close relationships, but fear of abandonment doesn’t let you get close to others. The fear of rejection and shame never lets you open up.

Even though, on the outside, your life looks complete, you feel something is missing. No matter what you do or how much you have achieved, you’re still left with a sense of emptiness. Maybe you’re not sure anymore what the right direction is.

Shame is a deep sense that our core being is inherently flawed. It exiles the very part of us that believes we are capable of change.

Hi, I’m Xiva Taverna. During a long period of my life, I lived in a numbed state. I couldn’t feel a deep connection with myself or others. I always felt there was something more to life than what I was getting out of it, but I couldn’t quite point out what exactly that was or what it meant. Fifteen years ago, I went through a profound crisis early in my marriage. That crisis led me to my healing path. After many years of deep inner work, I finally rediscovered my inner child. I’ve found that the more I connect to that origin, to that true inner self, the more grounded, grateful and connected I am towards life. I now have deep and meaningful relationships with my wife, children and friends from all around the world.

I became a counselling therapist because I want to help people recover from childhood trauma and toxic shame. I want to help you live a meaningful life and feel more connected to yourself and others.

I know from my experience how growing up in a dysfunctional home can affect our beliefs about ourselves. I know how challenging it is to build meaningful relationships while carrying a deep-rooted belief that “I’m not good enough.” And I also know that with the right help, we can heal and change our lives.

You don't have to do it alone.

"The act of reaching out and making an appointment with a total stranger to deal with the greatest intimacies and vulnerabilities of one's life is an act of profound courage and faith."

A lot of my clients come to therapy, asking themselves:

  • Why can’t I change?
  • I’m just so tired of living this way.
  • Why do I have this numbness and empty feeling?
  • I wish I could stop judging myself.
  • Why don’t my relationships work out?
  • Why don’t I feel more connected to others?

Working with a therapist like me, you will find a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere. You will feel safe to explore your inner world, gaining clarity about how experiences from the past affect your life today. You will finally be able to stop reacting to life and start acting towards what you really want.

I will be by your side as you embark on this fantastic journey of self-discovery.
